How to Dispose the Trash at Wander Tahoe Slopes

Our goal in Wander is to match (even exceed) your expectations while staying with us. And one way we do that is by making sure you arrive at a spotless home, inside and out. Yes, cleanliness is a top priority!

Near Wander Tahoe Slopes, a variety of wildlife can be found - so don’t be surprised to see a gated trash area in this one! You can find the bins at the bottom of the staircase directly to the left of the garage -- it's in a brown metal box. Please note that trash collection is done early morning every Monday.

Fair warning: Mother bears and their cubs frequent the neighborhood, so remember to lock the gate after use to keep them out. You can check out our separate guide on what to do when you encounter a bear. The gate may look intimidating, so here’s how to open it: 

1. Turn the metal wheel to the left to unlock the horizontal latch that connects the doors.

2. The two latches on top secure the door to the frame. So to unlock them, just pull the bolted locks up, then pull the door open. Note it takes two hands to do this each time.

4. Once you open the outer bear containment latches, you'll find the brown metal box inside. Open this by inserting the metal key inside the hole horizontally, then lifting it up. Here's a quick visual instruction that can surely help!

Note: Remember to lock the inner and outer trash containers after disposing of your trash.

Extra trash bags are always helpful, so we ensure we have some stowed away during your stay. You can find additional ones under the kitchen sink if you need them.
