Whether it's safety precautions, beach regulations, or driving instructions, we've got you covered here. So buckle up for a new adventure at Wander St. George Island while using a golf cart!
Must-Know Laws
As a motor vehicle, a golf cart can be pulled over by the police, so be sure you are familiar with the Local and State Traffic Laws before driving.
To ensure safe usage, here are the top three guidelines to keep in mind:
A golf cart must be driven only by someone with a valid driver’s license.
It is against the law to drive the golf cart past sunset.
The golf carts are prohibited on the recreational path, Gulf Beach Dr., or Franklin Blvd in St. George Island. Check out this guide map to help you better identify the areas where they are allowed.
We highly recommend reading and adhering to the comprehensive guidelines provided by St. George Island Civic Club for a smooth and memorable driving experience.
How to access the Golf Cart
To start, please complete the ‘Golf Cart Rental Agreement Form." You can ping Concierge to get access to that.
You will be asked to provide your personal information and upload a photo of your Driver’s license, Proof of Insurance, and snaps of the golf cart before use. For a smooth process, please have all the requirements ready.
Once the form and photos are sent in, our Concierge Team will quickly check them to verify. Afterward, they will guide you through the next steps in getting access to the golf cart.
How to Drive the Golf Cart
To start the golf cart, first, unlock the lockbox and retrieve the key. The key should then be inserted into the designated slot before turning it to start the engine.
To switch between modes, use the rocker switch above the key slot. Push it up to go forward, down to reverse, and leave it in the middle to park.
To increase your speed, apply slow and steady pressure on the accelerator pedal – it's the right pedal on the floorboard with GO written on it.
Use the brake pedal to stop or slow down – it's on the left with STOP written on it.
Meanwhile, you’ll find the light switches on the left side of the steering wheel, along with the horn.
Charging Guide
After a fun-filled day exploring the area, you can recharge the golf cart's battery using the charger under the front seat. The device plugs into a regular outlet and is inserted into the cart's second row on the driver's side.
Just a reminder not to leave the charger plugged in overnight to prevent battery damage.
