How to Control the Temperature at Wander Big Sur Point

Stay cozy at Wander Big Sur Point with these tips!

Thanks to the mild, temperate climate in this part of California, controlling the temperature inside Wander Big Sur Point is simple.

The home doesn't have central air-conditioning, because in the summer all you need is the cool breeze brought to you by the Pacific Ocean.

Letting the breeze in during the summer is simple. Just open the 3 large windows in the living room and the 2 windows in the master bedroom. A pole located in the kitchen corner next to the kitchen table can be used to open the windows.

During the winter, guests can make use of the wood stove located in the guest room. It acts as the main heater for the home. If you need extra wood for the stove, you can check the north side of the garage for some.

In addition, you can control the floor heating through the control panel located on the wall between the kitchen and the office. The panel is called New Heat, and it features a screen with two white doors on both sides. If you lift one of the doors, you'll see the on and off switch.

If it's your first time visiting Big Sur, you can prepare ahead for the climate and all the exciting activities to do with the right packing list. There are lots of hidden gems to discover - especially in the great outdoors all year round, so be sure to pack appropriately.
