Exploring a Hidden Gem in the Catskills Mountains
Founded in 1869, Mohonk Mountain House is a Victorian castle resort burrowed in the Catskill Mountains, only 16 miles south of Wander Hudson Valley. The castle is surrounded by 40,000 acres of untouched forest, which provides incredible opportunities for outdoor recreation all year long. Day guests are welcome to purchase resort passes that provide access to an array of activities on resort grounds. During your stay at Wander, take some time to enjoy nature in this serene paradise.
Hiking and Rock Climbing.. and more
The Mohonk preserve includes 85 miles of hiking trails ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Arguably the most famous hike on the grounds is the Lemon Squeeze, known for its labyrinth trail and rock scramble over large and small boulders.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can book a half or full-day rock climbing tour from April through November to experience some of the best rock climbing in the Hudson Valley. For additional details on rock climbing, you can email rockclimbing@mohonk.com.
For a slower pace, you can enjoy an easy stroll around Lake Mohonk or take a walk through the Victorian gardens. (Side note- these gardens are absolutely beautiful when in full bloom)
For an additional fee, Mohonk offers guided hiking tours with experts that discuss the region’s history and indigenous wildlife along the way. From late-spring to mid-fall, you can rent bikes and explore the 40 miles of wooded trails through both paved and rugged terrain.

Winter Trails Passes
Mohonk offers 30 miles of marked maintained trails ranging from bigger to advanced levels with stunning views of the Hudson Valley landscape. Access to hiking trails and cross-country skiing/snowboarding trails is available from November through March. Mohonk has both one-day trail access passes and one-day winter sports passes. In addition to trail access, the winter sports pass also includes equipment rental fees for ice skating, snowshoeing and MICROspikes.

Summer Activities
From late-April through mid-October, the resort offers watersport rentals on Lake Mohonk. This includes rowboats, paddleboats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. Rentals are available on a first-come-first-serve basis for guests 16 and older; guests under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Boating at Mohonk is an experience to enjoy in addition to a day package (hiking, spa, horseback riding)
Golf Course
The Mohonk Golf Course is a 9-hole course built in 1897, making it one of the oldest Scottish-inspired courses in the U.S. During open season, the course operates from 7:30/8am to dusk and green fees vary from $20 to $53 depending on course length.

Spa & Wellness
The spa offers a variety of skin care, massage therapy, facial and body treatments, salon services, and massage therapies to fit your needs. One of the most unique aspects of the spa is their private wellness sessions. These include yoga hikes, forest bathing, private mediation, mosaic barre, and pilates. If you’re feeling stressed, you can try Mohonk’s rhythmic Qigong and Tai Chi for neck & back body movements. Horseback Riding
If you’re interested in horseback riding on historic roads with breathtaking views, look no further. Mohonk has special offers for day guests, which include a carriage and hiking package or a semi-private horseback and hiking package. These allow you to experience a 20-45 minute horseback ride, as well as, have access to Mohonk’s 85 miles of hiking trails.
