Malibu Creek State Park

Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature at Malibu Creek State Park, featuring stunning mountains, canyons, and creeks. Hike through the 21+ trails, which are suitable for all skill levels, and discover the famous Rock Pool for a refreshing dip.

Enjoy thrilling adventures like rock climbing, mountain biking, and horseback riding amid iconic filming locations. Parking is $3 per hour or $12 per car per day. The park is pet-friendly, allowing leashed dogs to join in on the fun.

Tip: Check out Rock Pool and Century Lake Trails for an easy 4.4-mile loop or Saddle Peak for a 3.3-mile out-and-back trail. Also, be sure to check out Escondido Falls, a popular hiking trail that leads to a beautiful waterfall. On the weekends, you can find local produce vendors on the roads leading to the canyon.

Malibu Wine Hikes offers a unique and enchanting experience, combining the joys of hiking with the pleasures of wine tasting in the stunning backdrop of Malibu Canyon and the Santa Monica Mountains.

As the world's largest wildland within a major city's limits, the park offers hiking, mountain biking (restricted to fire roads), and equestrian opportunities.

From the historical Trippet Ranch starting point, trails like Musch Trail lead to Eagle Rock for panoramic views, while the Backbone Trail winds through the diverse landscapes of the Santa Monica Mountains, revealing geological wonders and hidden waterfalls.

Tip: Unfortunately, pets are not allowed within park limits. Be sure to note the Topanga Ranger line (310-455-2465 x106) in case you run into any unexpected issues while on park property. Every Sunday, from January 1 through June 30, the Topanga Canyon Docents offer a free guided hike at Trippet Ranch from 10AM to noon.
