From January-March, the 434-acre property is accessible to the public from 8am to 7pm. There is a $16 parking fee per vehicle, but there is no additional admission fee. If you are willing to drive a little further, Black Bear Snow Tubing (373 Kerr Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792 | 31 miles away) offers one and two-hour tubing sessions on their 600+ foot slope with an 80-foot vertical drop. Winter tubing runs weekends and holidays December to February typically. After hitting the slopes, stop by the concession stand to get some hot chocolate and snacks. 

Go Skiing or Snowboarding

About an hour away from Wander Asheville is one of the region’s most popular ski and snowboard stops, Cataloochee Ski Area (1080 Ski Lodge Rd, Maggie Valley, NC 28751 | 48 miles away). Make your way down 18 slopes and trails ranging from beginner to expert slopes.

Mountain peaks reach 5,400 feet and all slopes have lights for night use. Cataloochee Ski Area is open early November through late March. Rental equipment and ski/snowboard lessons are available onsite. Just four miles away from the ski area are multiple snow tub runs at Tube World
