Hunter Mountain

Hunter Mountain is composed of separate mountain faces encompassing a wide variety of terrain for skiers of all ability levels. The resort has 67 trails, 13 lifts, and the summit elevation hits 3,200 feet.

Tip: Lift tickets are approximately $10-50 cheaper if purchased online in advance. Hunter Mountain offers risk-free refunds, meaning that you can request a refund before 5 PM local time on the last day of your ticket, and they’ll refund you the full amount of any unused tickets, including COVID-19-related resort closures.

Belleayre Mountain Ski Center

Located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, Belleayre Mountain offers 174 skiable acres, over 50 trails, almost 10 km of cross-country trails, 8 lifts, and 4 lodges for hours of fun. Here you’ll find long cruising trails, but also bumps, glades, parks, steeps if you’re feeling more adventurous. Belleayre Mountain also offers private lessons or beginner/novice group lessons for adults, teens, and kids.

Tip: Parking is available at no cost to Belleayre Mountain guests. However, it fills up quickly so get to the mountain early. 

Windham Mountain

Windham Mountain is another option if you’re looking for all the jazz of a modern-day ski resort paired with the small-town Catskill charm. In 2022, the resort added RFID lift tech that gets you through the lift line faster, in addition to a high-speed, six-passenger Doppelmayr chairlift.

Enjoy Windham’s 54 trails totaling 285 skiable acres and after a long day on the slopes, be sure to check out the Alpine Spa to melt your aches away. Lift ticket prices vary from $81-175 depending on the day. Ski/snowboard lessons are available with advanced reservations.

Tip: Windham Mountain Tubing Park (360 County Route 12 | just 0.25 miles west of Windham Mountain) has family-friendly tubing available from 11AM-8PM on weekends and holidays. Parking and tickets are available at the Tubing Lodge. 

Windham also offers adaptive lessons for children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities and chronic illnesses.

Plattekill Mountain

If you're looking for something a little more low-key, check out Plattekill Mountain. This is a privately owned and operated, family-oriented ski mountain with 35+ trails and scenic lift rides. Lift tickets are about $10 cheaper if you buy them online at least 48 hours in advance of your trip. Snow tubing is also offered from 11AM-5PM for 2-hour time slots on Saturdays and Sundays.
