Hiking Tip: Make sure to pack lunch (or snacks) and plenty of water for your trip. Some hikes don’t provide any shade near the summit, so sunscreen or a hat are also recommended for sunny days.
Ashokan Quarry Trail

This 1.80 mile loop trail is generally considered an easy route, and takes an average of 52 minutes to complete. This trail does not get a lot of foot traffic, so it is a good place to enjoy some quiet time in nature.
Further, this trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.
Overlook Mountain

The Overlook Mountain trail is a 4.60 mile out and back trail, generally considered a moderate route, and takes an average of 2 h 48 min to complete.
The trail is mostly along an old gravel road. The steady incline to the summit will bring you to an elevation gain of 1,400 ft - but don’t worry, the views are worth the trek.
Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain

This is a moderate-difficult 3.2 mile hike (or 6.9 miles if you climb Panther Mt., too), up-and-back.
The total hike takes an average of 2 Hours (or 4 hours if you hit Panther Mt., too) and you hit an elevation gain of 1,090 ft (or 2,114 ft w/ Panther Mt.). The summit offers a stunning view of the Catskills Mountains and the Hudson Valley.
