The average temperature ranges between 60s and 80s Fahrenheit, and you’ll get to enjoy spring classics like the blooming flowers. Rain precipitation is also expected, but these are brief and almost always followed by sunny skies.

Spring also brings sunny days filled with events and activities in and around Surfside Beach. Visit the Brookgreen Gardens, a botanical paradise with 9 thousand acres of live oak and blooming flowers. It also has a butterfly garden and is home to the Lowcounty Zoo.

Seasonal Crowds in Surfside Beach vs. Myrtle Beach
Surfside Beach is only a 15-minute car ride from Myrtle Beach and about one hour north of Charleston. Despite how close Surfside and Myrtle Beach are to each other, the crowd fluctuations are noticeable.
Surfside Beach is more family-friendly and a residential area with many homes and colorful cottages by the beach. The small town is even known as “The Family Beach.” You’ll notice the beach crowds at Surfside are more sparse and laid back than Myrtle Beach while still being within close distance to enjoy the nightlife and places to explore.
