The Greenport Conservation loop hike is a 2.6-mile loop trail, perfect for birding, hiking, and trail running. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars and camera so you can capture the wildlife around you. (Pro tip: the best times to see wildlife are right after dawn and right before dusk).

Greenport is generally considered an easy route, taking an average of 1 hour to complete. Best times to visit this trail are March through December. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. For additional information visit the Greenport Conversation website or AllTrails

Screaming Eagle Outdoor Adventures

Screaming Eagle Outdoor Adventures offers single and tandem kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, as well as guided kayaking tours down the Hudson River. Kayaks must be rented per time slot as they are disinfected between each guest.

They also offer sunrise and sunset paddles and guided tours. Two-hour self-guided single kayaks rentals are around $50 while tandem kayaks are around $75.

Catskill Equestrian Center

Catskill Equestrian Center offers half hour ($50)  and one hour ($75) private English and Western riding instructions for all levels. All students are asked to wear long pants and boots with a heel.

No need to bring a helmet since those are provided in the packages. You'll be glad to know that the indoor and outdoor areas offer year-round riding in all weather. Keep in mind that lessons must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.

High Falls Conservation Area

Thanks to upstate New York’s mountainous terrain, the region is home to tons of beautiful waterfalls. A short hike through this forested nature trail will take you from the parking lot to the waterfall overlook.

Pro tip: we recommend getting here early to make sure you secure a parking spot. The best times to visit this trail are from April through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. You can find more information on the High Falls Conservation site or on AllTrails
